A perusal of Medical Animation videos on You Tube, in our opinion, finds that most videos are tailored to meet the needs of undergraduate, pre-medical, and pre-nursing students. We assess that more sophisticated topics in Anesthesiology and Critical Care deserve attention.
We are interested in promoting:
(1) Respiratory Physiology in terms of (a) Ventilation (V) and Perfusion (Q), as well as V/Q mismatch; and (2) Cardiac Physiology in terms of (a) cardiac output, (b) pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, (c) mean arterial pressure (MAP), (d) the pulmonary artery catheter, as well as (3) pulmonary hypertention (PHTN) and (4) simulating the use of intravenous inotropic/chronotropic/vasodilator pharmaceutical intervention for various states of shock and/or cardiac failure.
We look forward to working on this as a new adventure on behalf of teaching and academia.
