Application as a Part-Time Anesthesiologist at Keck USC

Well now. We never thought we would see this title on any blog of mine, eh? Well, you never know what another day will bring. You have to be prepared to step out of the shade and into the sunshine, even if you get a little burned.

If we don't have passion in our hearts, then there is no motivation. Where there is passion, there is action.

So just a short note to thank all of you for following me here. I look forward to sharing 2012 with you!

If I can do this, you can do what ever you set your mind to do. Just look at the goal. Keep it in your vision. Count negative attitudes as distractions. Distractions get you off line. Distractions get your blood pressure up, your heart rate up, and your voice changes so you don't sound quite so suave.

So ;-). Live a little bit. Add your own adventure to your own life. And don't be afraid to talk about it. Don't be afraid to fail. No matter what happens, I will learn and I will grow. My path will continue to move forward.

It is just that some times, I know what I want. When I applied to Residency programs, most of my medical school friends were applying and interviewing to oh..about 15 programs throughout the country. Then we had to 'Rank' the programs from 1-15....and the programs would 'Rank' us...all for a big huge "Match" Day.

I applied for 1 program. USC Department of Anesthesiology.

If I had failed, I would have taken a year off, I would have done research, and I would have reapplied after another year. There was just no where else that I wanted to go. It was in me. It was under my skin. It was a part of me.

So do not settle for less that who you are and what you want. Try. Try again. Move forward.

And maybe, the door will open. That is all I need. To see the door open just a little bit.

Now you go out and dream your dreams...and do not just let them be dreams. Let them turn into reality. Only you can do that. Believe in yourself. I believe in you.
